Project GEMINI (Geospatial Monitoring of Green Infrastructure by Means of Terrestrial, Airborne and Satellite Imagery) was funded by Croatian Science Foundation (Grant No. 5621, 2016).

  Project goal:

The main objective of this research project is to establish a system for collecting data of urban vegetation, the methodology for spatial analysis and decision support system for better management of urban green infrastructure (GI) by means of multispectral satellite imagery improved and calibrated with high resolution terrestrial and airborne multispectral sources as well as raise awareness of the benefits of the city's GI and concerns in the population at large. The project will facilitate the transfer of research results and existing technology and it will lead to new management techniques of GI in Croatia as well as Europe. This objective is aimed to be resolved by implementing novel methods and procedures in the integration of heterogeneous multispectral imagery sources. In the end, it will provide a better GI management and decision support system within the city's urban area.
